Day 54: Imagine

Admittedly, I’m tired. The last week or so has been dragging. I’ve been feeling drained and lackluster. I know this will pass. It’s not realistic to think I can plow through 100 days of painting and not feel a dip, weave, or swerve. What’s important is that I’m showing up. Every day.

Even if it sucks.

Many weeks ago, I asked you on Facebook to throw out some words. I wrote them all down and my original intention for them hasn’t come to light yet. However “imagine” spoke to me today. It’s been following me around like a lost puppy.

Throughout my day, it’s been popping up. There’s a dialogue happening. This morning: Imagine the possibilities. (That’s easy. You always do that.) This afternoon: Imagine how sweet it would be to take a nap. (Danger! You’re driving. Here, blast the radio.) This evening: Imagine having a parent not show up for you. (Yeah. Some kids truly have to carve out this life for themselves.)

Imagine is versatile.

It keeps us looking to the future, but also keeps us in the present. Imagine what life could be like. Imagine what life could be like.

With that, I leave you with chalkboard paint, chalk, and a blank canvas where you can write (or imagine) whatever moves you. Change it frequently and with guts.
