Day 67: My Little Pony

I’m sorry to say that this will be my last painting. It’s just too much. I just have too much on my plate.

… …. …..

Ha! I’m kidding. I’m still enjoying myself. I mean, who doesn’t love paint in their hair and large quantities of coffee? Exactly.

What’s actually happening is I have totally formed a daily routine. I know. I know. It’s Day 67 and I’m saying that NOW.

Truth is I’ve been sort of working in paintings here and there. And I *suppose* it’s been a routine so far, but over the last week, I’m actually realizing how much of a habit it is. I am just itching to get in the studio.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to hold up with the paintings getting bigger and bigger (going up a size in a few days!) and I’m sure it’ll still be a challenge – let’s call them growing pains.

My painting desires have shifted as well. Prior to this project I was painting and wanted to complete, complete, complete (one of the hazards of parenting: you never feel like you finish anything so completing SOMETHING is a big deal).

Now, I can’t wait until this project is over so I can sit with a piece. And give it time to introduce itself. So it can grow on me. And we can grow together.

By the way, who didn’t love My Little Ponies growing up? Awesome, right?
