Day 2 | 100 Days of Self Care

IMG_9192 It’s going to seem pretty slow moving at first. Right now, I’m focusing on the things I really need – a little bit at a time – and building from there. I don’t feel like there’s a magic recipe, but to start, I need to begin where I am. Similar to the painting project, this challenge will increase in activities (and diversity) as we go. I’ve been keeping post-it’s with ideas of some things I’d like to do and other things I should do in effort to promote self care.

Today is my birthday (well, yesterday – the 28th – was… I write these posts the night before) and it was really awesome getting loads of messages and spending time with my little family. Everyone put in such an effort to make my day special. It really warmed my heart.

FYI: Ice cream cake is totally self care!

Today’s Self Care Stats

Accomplished: Morning journal session. Stretching for the knees (you’ll be seeing that often, since my knees are trashed I need to work on getting my legs back). Finished two mini paintings. Shutting down technology for a few hours, so I could spend some time with the family.

How I felt: Happy. Today was a good day.

Take away point: Time with family is most important.
