Day 14 | 100 Days of Self Care

IMG_9275Look what showed up today! Not that a 15oz mug is self care, but it kinda is. Generally, I buy a print or product, so I can test the quality and see what the customer would be getting. Then I raffle it off, like with the owl print a few years ago.  (I am so not photo/video material.)

When this baby showed up, I fell in love. I looked at my husband and said, “awww… I love it.” And he logically (as always) replied, “so keep it.”

This had not occurred to me.

So, that’s what I’m going to do. This mug is self care. I’m keeping something for myself. I will smile every time I see it and I will fill it with things that nourish my body. Water. Tea. Yup, and occasionally coffee. Because coffee.

Today’s Self Care Stats:

  • Had a piece of fruit first thing out of the gate
  • Gratitude awareness
  • Knee: stretching
  • Hugged my hubs good and long

How I felt

Getting back to balance. Last week was a little stressful, so it was what it was and I’m comfortable chalking it up to what it was. No guilt there. I am leaning into a more structured, more active self care schedule. There are weaknesses in my body that don’t need to be there. As my aunt would say, Imma fixin’ to get down to business.

Take away point

Giving yourself a “get out of jail” card can be necessary. And saying “Ok. That’s enough. Let’s GO!” is just as important.
