Day 16 | 100 Days of Self Care

On display until Feb. 29th at the Sawmill River Arts Gallery. Stop by and check out ALL the great work!

Slow progress today – which is a good thing. And not. I know I’m doing what I can during any given day, but there’s a teensy bit of me that feels there should be more awareness around it. I’ve been practicing gratitude awareness each morning AND evening, but what happens during the busy-ness of the day escapes me. Then, I sit down at my computer each night and think, “That’s it? That’s all I’ve done?”

I could be better, I think.

Today’s Self Care Stats:

  • Snacked on strawberries
  • Had a big filling salad for lunch
  • Gratitude awareness
  • Drank water
  • Read a book for 10 whole “‘nother” minutes today (woo!)
  • Went to bed early (2 nights in a row! Can I get a gold star yet?)

How I felt

I notice something comes up for me when I snack on fruit. I’m not sure how to describe it, but fruit can be expensive, the kids love it, and I tend not to eat it much since I know it’ll only go that much faster. I’m not sure if it could be considered guilt, but maybe it’s a cousin of guilt? Not sure. Either way, today I had some and it was DELICIOUS.

Take away point

I don’t generally crave foods, but if something healthy is asking to be snacked on – DO it.
