Day 85 | 100 Days of Self Care

Happy Day 85! I can’t believe how quickly this is going now.  I think it was the Day 20 area and it felt so long and so hard. Now every time I look up we’ve completed another week or two. It’s crazy.

Today’s Self Care Stats:


  • Protein shake breakfast
  • Nice hike with the kids and the husky
  • Complete with a picnic on top of Tully Mountain
  • Mini watercolor/drawing session
  • Knee exercises/stretches
  • Ankle excercises
  • Good water intake today
  • Hot savory shower (savory? like soup? that’s weird.)
  • Inspiring reading

How I felt

Feeling much better about my self care today than yesterday. My mindset was better too. When hiking with the kids, it’s important for us to not have ANY expectations about how fast or how far. It’s all about the process and keeping things low key. My son is more into sports than walking for the sake of walking, but even he is warming up to it. We just make sure we take breaks and lots of shelled peanuts.

Take away point

The physical body is directly connected to the mindset. Feeling stress? Walk. I promise you’ll feel better.

    1. Hi there! I started a 100 Painting in 100 Days project back in December which was spurred on by another artist. It was wildly successful, so (with some nudging about “what’s next? what’s next!”) I decided to do another 100 day project focusing on something else I wanted to improve. Self care was a good fit because it could take many forms and shift to what I needed that day.

      By the way, Day 85 seems far but it goes by amazingly quick! How are you doing on your Day 6?
